How are you celebrating AAPI this year? I am celebrating APAHM this year by trying to educate myself and others on AAPI history. Our history has been largely forgotten and erased from history books. Asians have contributed greatly to the development of this country, built essential infrastructure and added to the rich fabric of the US. We are the most vast and diverse diaspora with unique cultures, traditions, languages and food. And I might add, that Asian food is the best! I will be consuming much of it this month in celebration of APAPM.
How can we all support the AAPI community right now? Get to know us, learn our history. Recognize that AAPI history is American history.
Where are you finding joy? I am finding joy in watching my community rise up and speak out. There is an awakening that is happening that was born out of crisis, but one that we will not allow to be squelched.
