Keeping it Together: Your friendly reminder to not care so much

Social media can lead to a spiral of self-criticism. But nobody is perfect, so try not to care so much about what others may think. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Reminder: Nobody is perfect, so try not caring so much about what others think.
Your friendly reminder to care less
Social media can lead to a spiral of self-criticism. But nobody is perfect, so try not to care so much about what others may think.

I love taking photos and sharing them.

But even as a Wellness reporter who writes about mental health and self-care, sometimes I find myself over thinking what I post on social media.

From criticizing the way I look in certain photos to trying to curate the most aesthetic feed – it's exhausting (and so unnecessary)!

And although I know, rationally, how silly it is to stress over social media, I'm sure I'm not the only one who sometimes feels the pressure to appear perfect.

Perfectly photographed, perfectly put together and perfectly happy.

So if this is something you also struggle with, let this be your friendly reminder to care less. It's something I've been trying to remind myself lately too.

Try not to care so much about what other people will think of you because at the end of the day, your opinion of yourself is what matters most.

And try not to take yourself too seriously either. Despite what it may seem online, nobody is perfect.

And the Emmy nomination goes to...

Missed the Emmy nominations today? No worries. My colleagues

have you covered with everything you need to know about the top nominees.

"The Mandalorian," the hit Disney+ series set in the "Star Wars" universe, led Tuesday's Emmy Awards nominations with 24 for its second season, including best drama and best supporting actor (Giancarlo Esposito), tying Netflix's British monarchy drama "The Crown."

Both shows were trailed by Disney+'s inaugural Marvel show "Wandavision," earning 23 nods including best limited series, actress (Elizabeth Olsen) and actor (Paul Bettany). The limited series categories are particularly stacked this year, with Netflix's "The Queen's Gambit," HBO's "I May Destroy You" and "Mare of Easttown" all picking up multiple nods.

Following last fall's mostly virtual ceremony hosted by Jimmy Kimmel amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Emmys will return for an in-person show Sept. 19 on CBS (8 EDT/PDT). Cedric the Entertainer will emcee the event, which will air live from Los Angeles' Microsoft Theater.
