Good morning, Daily Money folks, it's Josh here covering for Nathan while he takes some well-deserved time off. Happy Monday! |
When it comes to Amazon, we have a "good news, bad news" situation today. |
While Amazon reported more Black and Hispanic employees than ever, most people in top jobs are still white and male. |
Of the 2,610 employees Amazon classified as executives in 2020, 71% were white and 76% were men. |
My wonderful colleagues Jessica Guynn and Jayme Fraser crunched the numbers for us and in order for Amazon executives to match the demographics of the U.S. workforce, "the company would have had to increase its executive ranks by 954 people of color and 1,285 women." |

💡 INSIGHT OF THE DAY: On Magic Kingdom's opening day, Oct. 1, 1971, admission cost $3.50 – about $23.64 nowadays accounting for inflation. These days, a one-day park ticket starts at $109 and goes up depending on the time of year. Here's why die-hard fans keep going back. |
📰 And here are more stories you won't want to miss: |
1. Regardless of where you stand on the great candy corn debate, you need to know this: the confectioner's glaze on the treat contains a bug secretion. |
2. Trader Joe's is a fan favorite but, as our own Kelly Tyko says, "you have to seize the day when you spot any seasonal products because these deals won't linger on the shelf for long." |
3. TACO DAY is today: Get free tacos at Taco Bell, Del Taco and Cinnamon Roll Day deals Monday. |
Let's just hope the dollar store doesn't go the way of the dime store. |
